A book celebrating Gianni’s ideas in both art direction and hair collaborating with his muse and taxidermist Jazmine Miles‑Long.
INSPIRATION
“To me, the subject of hair is very much like the keyboard on a piano with each octave representing a different genre of hair, for example theatre, film, salon and fashion. When the black and white keys are played they produce colour. In this series of images I wanted to play and discover yet another key, to see if I could recognise the tune.”
CASTING
Taking advantage of his natural eye for street casting, Gianni spotted his muse Jazmine whilst walking past a café in Brick Lane in 2009. The spark was instant. She was a perfect fit for the ideas he planned to include in this book.
In Gianni's words “..my muse Jazmine was so versatile and open I began to see her in different ways, sometimes making the hair secondary to the image I had in my mind’s eye.”
